iPhone 4G caught in the wild, is thicker than 3G and edgier

Apparently if you don’t watch your feet when walking around the bars in San Jose you might stumble into an iPhone 4G (or is that iPhone HD?) laying on the ground. Or at least that’s what the guy who posted the live photos of the device wants us to believe.
The story goes on to tell that the prototype device was found inside an iPhone 3G box. According to the source it’s so early in its development that it even fails to boot so details about it are scarce.

The quoted specs include a front-facing camera and 80 GB worth of storage space. Now how exactly did he find that out if the device doesn’t power on is a mystery but let’s just pretend we didn’t notice and play along here.
The announcement of the 4th generation of the Apple mobile phone is coming in a couple of months time so then we will find out if this was a real prototype or a fan-made mock-up.
Update: Actually, the truth about this iPhone 4G wannabe surfaced much much earlier than that. The device turned out to be a Japanese knock-off that some fraudsters were trying to sell to publications for 10 000 US dollars. We told you there was something wrong here.

MeeGo 1.0 caught on video, up and running on various devices

Intel demonstrated MeeGo 1.0 OS in Beijing on four kinds of devices - a netbook, a smartphone, one big TV and a digital coupon machine. The upcoming mobile OS looks and runs smoothly, offering rich functionality and simple UI.

The second demonstration is very interesting. If you preview some online content, moving it from one device to the other can be quite seamless. All your MeeGo devices sync with the cloud. As the video shows you can watch a movie on your netbook, TV and smartphone very easy and the process is automatic and simple.
Finally a portable MeeGo device may be used to communicate with machines running the same OS like the coupon one. They can exchange information, coupons, etc.

There is a still a lot of work on the MeeGo UI, but the guys behind the OS have some great ideas. The first MeeGo-based Nokia/Intel smartphone is expected to be announced and released later this year. Until then we'll keep looking for more interesting info on the OS development.
